Refund Policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
If a book you bought is broken, unreadable, not as described or a duplicate, tell us within 7 days and we will refund you. Otherwise digital books are final once downloaded or read.
1. When you can get a refund
You can ask for a full refund within 7 days of your purchase if:
- the file is broken or will not open on a common device or browser;
- the book is unreadable, for example pages are missing, blank or in the wrong order, or it is a different book;
- the book is materially different from its description, such as a different language, edition or length;
- you bought the same book twice by mistake (the second purchase is refunded).
2. When a purchase is final
Because a digital book cannot be returned, a purchase is final once it has been downloaded or opened in the reader, unless one of the cases above applies. Changing your mind, buying the wrong title or not enjoying a book are not reasons for a refund.
3. How to ask for a refund
Email hello@ethiobooks.company within 7 days of your purchase with:
- your order code, shown on your order page and receipt;
- the title of the book;
- what is wrong, with a screenshot if you can.
We may first offer a corrected file if the seller can fix the problem quickly. If you would rather have your money back, say so.
4. What happens next
We reply to every request. When a refund is approved, we send the money back within 5 business days to the telebirr or bank account you paid from. Depending on your bank or provider, it may take a few more days to appear.
When an order is refunded, the book is removed from your library and its download links stop working.
5. Fair use
Refunds exist to fix real problems. If we see repeated or abusive refund requests, for example buying, reading and refunding many books, we may refuse further refunds and restrict the account.
6. What this means for sellers
When a sale is refunded, the seller's earnings from it are taken back from their balance: from pending earnings while the 7-day hold lasts, or from the available balance after that. Our commission on the sale is returned too. If the balance is not enough, the difference is taken from future earnings.
7. Your legal rights
This policy does not take away any rights you have under Ethiopian consumer protection law.
